About

Founded in Miami in 2012, Bed & Breakfast is an exploratory and collaborative curatorial platform located in Los Angeles. Through exhibition-making, installations, performances, happenings and meals, Bed & Breakfast seeks to blur the line between public and private through a commitment to social interaction by nurturing community and collective expression, while continuously addressing the core question of how art, the built environment, and hospitality can cross paths.

B&B's programming took place in its founder's bedroom for a decade, hosting exhibitions, open hours and overnight stays (bedtime stories and breakfast included) as a means of creating warmth in an often cold and unwelcoming artworld. The program is rooted in thinking critically about the social, structural and emotional obstacles in place that keep a public from experiencing both the arts and the acquisition of knowledge in general. We have since expanded to more public spaces, such as parks and libraries, with the understanding that an invitation alone is not sufficient to make a person feel welcome.
